Here's the Scoop: I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream!

This week we visited Washington, DC’s new black owned ice cream shop, “Here’s the Scoop”! We had to grab a scoop while the sun is still forcing its way through. Here’s the Scoop is located directly across the street from our beloved alma mater, Howard University, sitting in such an opportune location. In our years at the Mecca, frozen yogurt (froyo) was the hot commodity, but we hope current students are enjoying this new Northwest gem!

A quaint shop, but you can’t miss the over sized ice cream cone outside!

Inside the shop, you can find an assortment of sweets and treats; cakes, cookies, milkshakes, and of course your favorite ice cream. They have flavors such as; coffee, cookie dough, mint chocolate chip sorbet, and even no sugar/fat free options. I went with the cookies and cream in a sugar cone. Also available: Cake and Waffle Cones and toppings from pineapple, hot fudge, to rainbow or chocolate sprinkles.
